Hi there, I'm not sure how I did this, but I've infected my computer with trojans / malware. I like to use NTFS whenever I can though. Unplug the IDE cables, start the computer, Scan for Hardware Change then plug the cables back when restarting.I googled for alot of fixes too but still can't find one that can I changed the CDROM and I tried several different Windows CDs, 32 and 64 bits, no luck.
This can involve setting a bios option to pretend SATA is IDE, or pressing F6 to install SATA drivers from another source early in the setup. I also tried installing Linux Ubuntu 10.10 of a USB stick and that didn't work as it had problem copying files.... I decided to totally reformat that hard disk and reinstall Windows. I also could get it to work by copying the i386 folder of the cd to our server and back to the workstations HDD and installing it from there.
Login now. after this i eliminated one of my two RAM chips, a 128MB and left with a 64MB, ran the XP setup and it WORKED!
