Also, since I was able to connect from my laptop with no problem, it led me to believe it was something wrong with my desktop. Let AD replicate and retry the domain join. It fixed it right away. Thank you so much.
I had the same issue with an old computer that runs XP and I figured this out by myself in a few mins. It works on Vista on the same machine, but not XP. I bought a new netbook and this was the error. I just tried this today and I am back online. If you switch to WEP network authentication and encryption, the "authentication" tab is NOT greyed out. It really helps!
