How can I get it back to the way it was (that is, taking me to google's home page instead of showing me this useless button)? In older versions of the browser, you'd need to change your default search engine before submitting your keyword(s) to an option other than the current one. They are trying to create a better Chrome than Chrome? Like it is useless the new Firefox search since, apart from the few famous ones, I doubt anyone remembers specific engines by their favicon.
Using both methods(1st method followed by the 2nd method), returned everything back to the search paradise that actually worked and worked VERY well. Pale Moon, as this "new, improved" cock-up with the Search Bar was frustrating me to no end. I gave it a try, but I still cannot get used to the current implementation.
so that the dropdown for the search engine selection became visible again. I hope FF doesn't streamline this fix away, the way the previous fix was disappeared. Currently it opens a "dropdown" menu with the search engines, but as I have disabled all the others, it only shows "google".
